Outstanding Reviews For Ducane Gas Grills
Ducane, a subsidiary of Weber-Stephen Products, continues to provide quality Ducane gas grills. Having been in the business for over 30 years, the company just keeps on making better and larger grills to satisfy their customers. In the past two years, they introduced the Affinity 4400 and the S-5200, both outstanding grills that offer many extras.
In 2007, the newest addition to the gas grill line was the Affinity 4400. This model offers both 3 burner and 4 burner options. It can also come with a side burners and/or a rotis-a-grate. With a spacious 605 square inch cooking surface, this model is a king of gas grills. Large side tables finish out the griller's dream. The cooking surface should remain strong with good care. The stainless steel grates and porcelain coated steel distribution plates are of long lasting quality.
If the Affinity wasn't good enough, Ducane shined again in 2008 with the release of the S-5200. This giant of a gas grill offers five burners. It also has the durable stainless steel grates and porcelain enameled distribution plates like it's older counterparts, but the cooking surface has been increased to an amazing 832 square inches total. Instead of a push button igniter like the Affinity, it has a push and turn control knob. With durable casters, two of which lock, you can move this sturdy grill around but keep it stable at the same time.
You can extend the life of your Ducane gas grill by following their recommended maintenance on a regular basis. Clean the grids by covering them with aluminum foil and heating them up with the lid closed for about 10 minutes on high. This should loosen any debris so that you can use a wire brush to scrub off the build up. You can then wash it with soap. If there is rust, you can't do anything except remove it and coat it with vegetable oil. The burners can also be cleaned with a wire brush and venturi brushes to remove rust. Check the seams for weak spots created by rust. If you find splitting or holes, replace the burner. Rust will eventually lead to needing a replacement part no matter how high quality the product is, but good maintenance can prolong the life of the grid and burners. A typical lifespan of a burner is 2 to 5 years depending on the care given to keeping it clean. If the igniter button causes problems at some point, you can test to see if it is sparking when the gas is off. If it is sparking, but you can't get it to light, you may have a blockage in the burner. If there is no spark at all, check several things before deciding you need to replace it. There could just be a loose connection or a dirty electrode. The burner may need cleaning or the ground may have wiggled loose. Once you have cleaned everything and made sure all of the connections are good, you can determine if it can be repaired or if you need to replace it. Ducane gas grills offer many options from the griller on a budget to the king of grillers that has to have all the bells and whistles.
