Always Have Enough With Weber's Natural Gas Grill

With the increase in gas fueled grills, it's no wonder that Weber, along with other leading grill manufacturers, have natural gas barbeque grills. Many people are choosing gas over charcoal grills for the convenience. How many times have you stood over a charcoal grill trying to get the coals lit? Once they are lit, you have to wait until they have reached the proper temperature, and there is no way to control flare ups when grease drops on the hot coals. Choosing between a propane model or a natural gas model will be easy once you know the pros and cons.

Obviously, a natural gas model will never run out of gas. You would never be in the middle of cooking only to find that the propane tank has run empty, nor would you be ready to start cooking to find that now you have to run to the store to refill your tank before things can get started.

Another plus is the price of natural gas. At just a third of the price per BTU to use, natural gas beats propane any time. Yes, propane is more powerful than natural gas, but even using twice as much it remains a third cheaper. Don't worry about using more since natural gas has fewer emissions than propane making it safer for the environment.

Some inconveniences you may find with natural gas include having to keep the grill in a permanent location. The gas line as to come from your house at a convenient location, which may be a start up cost for you if you don't already have one. It only takes a contractor a couple of hours to run the line, but you will need to find a reputable contractor and choose from several bids to make sure you're getting the best price. For safety, you can have a quick connector installed so that all you have to do is plug your grill or other gas fueled appliance into it. It offers extra safety in that you can shut off the gas supply if there is a grill fire and it automatically shuts off if the flow of gas is too much. You can make sure it won't have to do that by checking the connection hose regularly for leaks. It's easy to do with liquid soap and water. Brush the mixture along the hose and turn on the gas. If the soap bubbles, there is a leak that needs to be repaired.

Some propane models can be converted to natural gas models. They will usually have a tag showing duel fuel compatibility. If your model has this, you can buy a conversion kit and convert it yourself. If it doesn't have that tag, it is probably best that you have a professional convert it or consider buying a different model. Converting one that is not labeled as duel fuel may void the warranty, so check with your manufacturer first.

Natural gas barbeque grills have fast replaced their charcoal counterparts. Even those who argue that charcoal gives the food more flavor can't debate the accessories that come for gas grills to give that added flavor, also. If you're considering a gas grill, look into natural.
